On our first date, I asked Lori 2 questions:
“Are you ‘family'”?
“Do you want one?”
After she finished chewing the undercooked pasta I had prepped, she answered:
“I don’t believe in labels.”
“Maybe.”
Not the answers I was looking for, but no harm in a few more meals together. After all, this was grad school, and I had plenty of time to find “the one.”
20+ years, 7 careers, 4 homes, and 3 kids later, Lori does most of the cooking, I ask most of the questions, and we’re still not sure how we ended up together.
But we’re having a blast.
Love that you are writing this, can’t wait to read more! Miss you guys!
We miss you too! We’ll stop by soon with the whole crew.
Just heard your story on the 2nd Story podcast (Daylight Savings) and it was so good I cried a little and had to stop the player a few times to hear the part I missed. It was just a lovely story and beautifully told.
That’s all really – thank you for sharing it.
Awww, thank you. I’m a little sad that we don’t have the ghosts anymore. I think they were just making sure we knew what we were doing before they moved on…
What a great house…so much love…adventure.
